38 competitors braved unseasonable cold, rain and snow on April 23, 2005 for the Fifth Annual Garand Match. This year’s match was help at Monroe Rifle & Pistol Club in Dundee, MI. 16 competitors fired in the Inaugural Springfield Match. It rained or snowed all day with no breaks and the temperature was just above freezing most of the day. These competitors really wanted to shoot!

Garand Match Winner John Cerny (right) is congratulated by Highpower Director Dave Goebel (left) with a proxy trophy. John fired a score of 288-5x with an M-1 rifle. John has lived in Three Rivers for several years but first got started in Highpower at the Monroe club as a junior and was also involved in JROTC at Jefferson High School.
